Fulbright US Student Program

Offers one academic year of study, research, or teaching assistantship experience.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program sponsors year-long experiences abroad including teaching, research, and study. Grants cover tuition, fees and travel and include a stipend. Applicants in all fields are welcome.

Fallback Primer Due Date: Monday, May 1, 2017

First Draft Due Date: Thursday, June 1, 2017

Campus Application Deadline: Tuesday, August 29, 2017

Eligibility Requirements

  • Candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree by the start of the grant period; therefore, applications for Fulbright grants may only be submitted by fourth-year students (who will graduate before the start of the grant period) or recent graduates. Third-year students should begin planning during late winter or early spring quarters.
  • US citizens are eligible to apply.

  • Recent alumni of the College who are not currently in graduate school are encouraged to apply through the campus process. The CCSA is available for all College alumni applicants.

A separate campus application process exists for University of Chicago graduate students.
