Many of the scholarships below require University of Chicago endorsement and all students interested in applying for any of the opportunities below are strongly encouraged to set up an appointment with CCSA staff.  You can read more about opportunities and the application processes by linking to the specific programs listed in the menu to the left.

Carnegie Endowment Junior Fellows Program 3rd, 4th, Alumni Postgraduate fellowship placement at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a leading think-tank in Washington, DC. Late Fall Mid January
Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) All Years Intensive, summer language study in one of fourteen critical languages. Summer Mid November
DAAD German Academic Exchange Programs All Years A variety of funding opportunities through the German education exchange program. Varies Varies
Ertegun Fellowship 3rd, 4th, Alumni Funding for a postgraduate degree at Oxford in the arts or humanities. Early Fall Early January
Gilman Scholarship All Years Funding for study abroad opportunities for students who are Pell Grant eligible. Varies Varies
Fulbright US Student Grant Program 3rd, 4th, Alumni Postgraduate opportunities to conduct independent research, enroll in graduate study, or serve as an English tutor abroad. Early Spring Early October
Gates-Cambridge Scholarship 3rd, 4th, Alumni Graduate enrollment in Cambridge University, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. Spring October
Goldwater Scholarship 2nd and 3rd Years Funding for second and third year STEM students interested in pursuing a PhD and a career in research. Fall Late January
Humanity in Action Fellowship (HIA) All Years Summer academic programming in Europe focused on peace studies. Fall Early January
Luce Fellowship Program 3rd, 4th, Alumni Postgraduate internship placement in Asia; all disciplines welcome, though previous experience in Asia is disqualifying. Summer Mid October
Marshall Scholarship 3rd, 4th, Alumni Funding for graduate study in the UK. Spring Early October
Mitchell Scholarship 3rd, 4th, Alumni Funding for graduate study in Ireland. Spring Early October
NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program 3rd, 4th, Alumni Graduate funding and stipend for students enrolled or enrolling in STEM graduate programs. Summer Early November (Varies)
NIH Oxford-Cambridge Fellows Program (MD/PhD)        
Rhodes Scholarship 3rd, 4th, Alumni Funding for graduate degree from Oxford University. Spring Early October
Rotary Global Grant        
Schwarzman Scholars Program 3rd, 4th, Alumni Funding for graduate degree from Tsinghua University in Beijing. Spring Mid September
Soros Scholarship for New Americans 3rd, 4th, Alumni Graduate school funding for immigrant or first generation students. Summer Early November
Truman Scholarship 3rd Years Funding for third year students interested in graduate school who have evidenced their capacity to be "change agents." Early Fall Early February
Udall Scholarship 2nd and 3rd Years For second and third year students who are passionate about environmental advocacy or Native American public policy/healthcare. Mid November Early March
