The John F. and Anna Lee Stacey Scholarship

Provides up to $5,000 for students who aim to make art their profession

In accordance with the will of the late Anna Lee Stacey, a trust fund has been created for the education of young men and women who aim to make art their profession and will provide awards of $500-$5,000 for the furhtering of these ends.In general, the recipient may use the funds granted them in any way they wish to further their art education.

Responsibilities

Each scholarship recipient will be required to submit a brief quarterly report together with digital images on a disk of their work and a more complete report at the termination of the scholarship.

Eligibility Requirements

The scholarship is open to United States citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 years.

The purpose of the xcholarship, in accordance with the clear stipulation of the Stacey’s will, is to foster high standard in the study of form, color, drawing, painting, design, and technique, as these are expressed in modes showing patent affinity with the classical tradition of Western culture. Only those who are devoted to this classical tradition should apply.

Some suggested subject categories for the submitted artwork are:

  • Painting from life
  • Drawing from the figure
  • Composition
  • Landscape

Application Process

Applications will open on November 1 on the scholarship's official website.

Applications close on February 1, 2018, and winners will be notified on May 1, 2018.
