Provides up to $5,000 for a study abroad experience, for first-, second-, third-, and fourth-year students.

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs, Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships provide up to $5,000 to help defray the costs of studying abroad.

Eligibility Requirements

College students who are US citizens and recipients of federal Pell Grant funding are eligible to apply.

The application deadlines for this award are in the spring and autumn.

Additional restrictions (e.g. not all countries are eligible, summer study is ineligible) apply to this award.
